The countdown is now well and truly on until the big man in red arrives!! Where has the year gone?

It has been a busy year which has seen the world welcome a new Prince, Queensland make it 8 in a row, and the country have a (not entirely unexpected) change in government. The Coalition is desperate to have the mining tax repealed by the end of the year. While this is not likely to have a direct affect on small businesses and individual taxpayers, the Government also plans to abolish a number of other tax measures that will have a broader impact. For more details see our article Axing the Mining Tax - how will it affect you? If Tony Abbot is able to get the bill passed during the final sitting of parliament, some of these measures will come into effect from 1 January 2014.

Don't forget our office will close for the Christmas/NewYear period from Friday 20 December 2013 and will re-open at 8.30am on Monday 13 January 2014.
