HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!! This month marks our 15 year anniversary. CONGRATULATIONS also to Karlie Offord who marks her 12 year anniversary being part of the MaxCam Team.

Welcome to our first edition of the MAX CAMmunicator for 2015. We hope you made it through Cyclone Marcia safely and to those who were unfortunate to have suffered damage, we hope you are well on the road to recovery.

There is nothing like a natural disaster to make you think about your insurances - do I have enough cover, what am I covered (or not covered) for, what will the insurance company want if I need to make a claim? Hopefully no one is having too much trouble with their insurance company, but it is certainly a timely reminder to make sure your current cover is sufficient for you and your business to avoid any unwanted surprises.         

It was great to see so many people out in the community supporting each other during the aftermath - neighbours, total strangers helping with debris clean up, people lucky enough to have power restored offering hot showers, washing machines, air conditioning or generators to those still without.

Like many businesses around town, our office was shut for over a week as a result of the cyclone, however we are back into the swing of things now.

On 29 April, the Maxcam Team are dressing up as their favourite super heros to raise money for Relay for Life (in conjunction with the CQ Off Road Club). All donations are greatly appreciated. See Sam at reception to make your donation for a good cause - we promise to post photos for all to see!

It's a Boy!



Aliesha and her partner Joe, welcomed baby Bentley just before Christmas. Aliesha said she is enjoying motherhood and spending lots of time with her little man (aside from the sleep deprivation of course).

I'm going to Graceland 



Christine recently marked a special trip off her bucket list. A HUGE Elvis Presley fan, Christine spent a "very special" birthday visiting Graceland. Couldn't wipe the smile from her face that day!

For people who have a business or residential address in Cyclone Marcia affected postcodes, the ATO have automatically deferred the lodgment and payment dates due in February and March, to 28 April 2015 (excluding large pay as you go withholders).

31 March - is the end of the 2015 FBT year, make sure you note vehicle odometer readings as required and if you have any FBT questions, please contact us.

28 April - March 2015 quarter super guarantee contributions are due for payment

15 May - due date for 2014 tax returns for all individuals and entities that did not have to lodge earlier (company and super funds to pay if required. Individuals and trusts in this category to pay as advised on their notice of assessment)
